A key component of this Civic Trust Award winning project was the suite of lighting elements that we designed for the space.

Bespoke columns, including reflector lights for the main pedestrian routes provide the core illumination. This is complemented by the dramatic lighting of the animated water jets; the grid of full colour spectrum LEDs in the main events space; and a range of other elements including illuminated trees and seats.

The structural columns (nicknamed ‘The Hecklers’) that face the Custom House can be controlled to deliver variable light levels to the space below, depending on the activities taking place.
