Drymen Village Square, Loch Lomond

The picturesque village of Drymen is an important gateway to East Loch Lomond. While the village square is seen as the ‘heart of the village’, it has suffered from lack of investment and increasing vehicular dominance. We were appointed by Drymen Community Development Trust to develop proposals for improvements to Drymen Square in association with the local community. During the consultation process, proposals were developed that obtained widespread community and local authority buy in. Key elements include the rationalisation of vehicular and pedestrian movement, and reinforcing the distinctive character of the square by the use of high quality materials, lighting, street furniture and planting. We are currently working with the Development Trust to secure funding for the implementation of the project.
