Interpretation and Orientation Signage, Derry
Expanding on the work done in Stirling, the signing ‘system’ developed for Derry/Londonderry presented many new challenges, most notably the political sensitivities surrounding the city name. This involved extensive community consultation, which ultimately proved invaluable in securing support for our final proposals, all of which were adopted.
Again the ‘system’ was composed of an integrated suite of ‘gateway’ features, orientation/ interpretation signs, wall plaques and finger-poles. A free tear-off map was supported by a small visitor guide-book that is available in local shops.
