Mention Downpatrick town centre to local people, and traffic is often their first association. We are leading a multidisciplinary team to develop a masterplan to find viable solutions to this issue, as part of a comprehensive strategy for the regeneration of the town.

Through analysis, the team has demonstrated how the characteristic landscape of Downpatrick has both shaped its evolution and contributed to some of the problems it currently faces.

By understanding the town's past and working with the natural landscape, we have developed some exciting yet achievable proposals for its future. The masterplan is currently at the public consultation stage.
